The Geophagus sveni, also known as sven’s eartheater cichlid, is native to Brazil. They can be found in different regions of Brazil. These come from Rio Parana which are more sought after for its vibrant colors. Their sparkling colors develop with age, beautiful blue, green, yellow, and especilly red. It is a great addition to a clean crew in your tank due to their digging behavior as they clean the substrate by picking up substrate in their mouth and spitting it back out. They are fascinating feeders to watch them devour shrimp, tilapia, big krill, and bloodworms. Aside from their omnivorous diet, they are hardy freshwater fish that have a ton of personality. The geophagus sveni is a compatible with a numerous of different tank mates in a spacious tank space.
